Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill, or Ax, from Animorphs! He's rather confused as to why this brave earth creature has chosen to land on his dangerous tail.
I love Ax, he's one of my favorite characters, and not because he's the Andalite character. I love Ax because he's a great character to introduce us to the Andalites, and unlike most Andalites he's also willing to listen and accept other theories besides his own. He knows enough things about Andalite culture to bring the reader into his world, but not so much that he seems like a character we can never relate to.
In fact, re-reading the series has shown me how well written it is. I mean yes, it's for kids and is therefore written like it's for kids, but it's a great story. It starts off by introducing the good guys and the bad guys, in other words it starts off black and white, and this makes it really easy on the kids. However, as the story goes on the writer begins to shatter those walls. The world turns from this definite thing of good vs. evil and instead becomes a grey area, and you can see how hard it is on the kids too. I think that's why Cassie is my favorite kid, she comes to terms with these shades of grey immediately, but it's also harder on her because, for example, yerks become living breathing creatures with ambitions and dreams and it's hard to kill something knowing that.
ANYWAY, I just drew this up while waiting for my husband to get home so we could continue on our Diable 3 adventures

It seemed like he was willing to listen to ideas up to a point...it's been a long time since I've read the series but I remember being pretty pissed off and ready to be rid of him at the end. But he was certainly a lot better than others of his people, who were just plain assholes (well, except Aldrea, who was about as non-asshole as possible).
